- Wedding: May 2015 - St Peter\'s Church, East Maitland, and Bella Vista, Newcastle
So we’ve been married six weeks and got photos back yesterday! We had just over 70 guests plus six kids ranging from nine months to six years (three were pageboys and one a flowergirl). Ceremony was at a beautiful Anglican (Episcopal) church, St Peter’s, then the reception at an old house called Bella Vista which has been converted to a (wonderful) function centre. Despite our venues, we didn’t want it to be too formal and wanted everyone to have fun. I got as many family wedding photos as I could find (and was lucky that my mum found wedding photos of both sets of her grandparents) which I framed and had on display for the reception which turned out to be a real talking point. We were lightly themed around books – for centrepieces we collected books which were important to us and invited guests to take them home as favours – and we were left with about two in the end, so it worked! Our ringbearer had the rings in a box which looked like a book, and we did book-themed Mad Libs for a guestbook and had tables named after authors. The day went very smoothly, weather was overcast but not too cool and we couldn’t have been happier with how it went! On to the pictures…

The flowergirl (chief BM’s little girl) didn’t want to be in the bridal party photo unfortunately! The two boys on the left are my nephews and the one on the right is my chief BM’s son – he’s nearly five and is hilarious!)

And this one I think is my favourite of all the photos from the day:
