Fiance and I had the menu tasting last Friday. We went there together with his parents, my mother and my brother.
We were already set for the red lobster salad as an entree, but we are still deciding the main course.
Before dinner, we will have a 1-hour cocktail with around 15 passed appetizers, including Iberian ham. (Hey! Don’t expect a good Spanish wedding without good Iberian ham!)
From top down and left to right:
ENTREES
– red lobster salad *****
– foie & duck salad (for those who are allergic to seafood like my mother and grandad!) *****
– cod and potatoes layered tower with “pilpil” and pepper sauce
MAIN COUrSE
– Foie stuffed pheasant and perigueux sauce (only Fiance and my brother loved this)
– Veggie stuffed Poulard with white truffle sauce (the sauce was marvellous)
– Guinea-fowl with rose champagne sauce (this was the best meat of all, but I HATE champagne so I didn’t like the sauce…)
– Lamb noisettes (by far, the best of all the meats, but we think it is a little scarce…) *****
DESSERT
I wanted the cake Fiance and I cut to be eaten by everyone, but after tasting these wonderful desserts I don’t know what to do!!!
GIN&TONIC SORBET
We tasted this and a Mojito sorbet which I didn’t like.
The sorbet will be served after the red lobster salad, before the main course is served.

Misswhowedding: Sorry for that! Fiance and I are saying that we won’t eat as well as we did last Friday until our wedding day!

I can see why! I am such a foodie that I can’t help but reading all of the menu posts, so I only have myself to blame.

skinnypinkmartini: Looks delicious! To avoid confusion with your caterer and not end up with something you didn’t wnat, make sure you use the right terms. The “entree” is the main course.

julies1949: Uuups! Excuse my English! I meant starter! No worries there, since we are tying the knot in Spain, and this is just my bad translation into English

Your English is excellent! Here in Australia we call a starter an entree, too! My friend ended up over eating in an embarrasing way in the USA because their main course is called an entree!! Quite funny, all the differences!
I think your menu sounds amazing…! And I agree with PP… I’ve got to stop reading these when I’m hungry!

skinnypinkmartini: Looks fantastic. I LOVE foie so I’m always happy to see other people use it in their wedding menu.

Oh my, fancy! 15 passed apps sounds like a lot, I just hope your guests don’t fill up before the main course!
I like the sound of the veggie stuffed poulard the most, especially with that truffle sauce! Sounds like a crowd pleaser. I’d make sure to have a vegetarian option as well, even though I doubt many of your Spanish guests are vegetarians….

Luce587: I do have some problems with those names that are used differently between different countries. I do my own mix&match and I tend to confuse people!

nocleverbeepun: Fiance and I love foie as well, so we hope people enjoy it as much as we do! (we are also having “foie bonbons” as app.
mrscash: We only tasted different options for the main menu, but our caterer will provide special menus upon a request basis. (I have a few friends who are vegans and vegetarians, sea food intolerants, cheliacs…)
