Our first big purchase as newleyweds was a new car…and here is our second! This one is even more exciting….we are building a house!!! The picture is our elevation we are going with, but the stone and brick color as well as the paint color will be different. Eeeekkk so excited…July can’t get here soon enough 🙂

Very cute =) I’m sure you will both have a lot of fun decorating and making that house feel like a home

Oh that house is pretty! Congrats!

Thanks! I was getting discouraged because we were not finding homes already built in our price range that I liked…we found this builder and were able to get the stone front we were wanting in our price range. Cannot wait for them to break ground 🙂 That is our brick and stone

It’s a gorgeous house. Just one tip- don’t get your heart set on July. Builders are notoriously over budget and over schedule.

Oh I know….would love July as I am a teacher but not counting on it. Luckily price is set so we are good on that!!

Thank you for your responses. Unfortunately, after living in the room for a few weeks, I decided it looked very kid-like and thrown together. SO, my (72 yr old) mother and I did a bit of a redesign. I dodnt buy anything…just took some stuff out of the basement that I had and moved other things around. I did buy the two pillows that I had questioned. I took away the coffe table and plan on one or two small black (pleather) storage ottomans instead.
Iignore the dog poop…I swear I didnt see it when I was taking the picture (silly puppy)

@Britt214: Congratulations, beautiful house! Good luck going the custom route, my husband and I did and it took about four months, so not too bad. It’s so much fun choosing everything!

Thanks! Can’t wait for them to break ground so I can start watching the progress 🙂

Congrats! My only piece of advice would be to see if the floor plan could accomodate the garage door being on the side of the house. To me it makes the house look like one big garage with the door in front that is over half the size of the house. That was a major concern of mine when we were going to build.
