Until I read the rest of the posts I was CERTAIN you meant you got a puppy for your lab(oratory). I guess I’ve been reading too many psychological studies involving animal subjects. Argh. Anyway, your pup is the cutest. Gosh, they look so innocent at that age… Congrats!

5 weeks is SO young to be taken away from the litter. Hopefully that doesnt cause any social issues later.
We have a 6 month old yellow lab as well. He is just the sweetest. He is in his “teenager” phase so QUITE a handful. But he is totally my son from another mum lol. They are terrific dogs. Good luck with puppyhood!

5 weeks is far too young. 8 weeks is the MINIMUM. That’s valuable socialization time with her littermates. I’d suggest reading up on how to prevent later issues with this. Obviously until she’s fully vaccinated she can’t be out and about, but she’s going to need a lot of time with other dogs.
Also, she’s sweet. I love Labs. I learned to walk on one.

Oooh so cute! I love labs. I have a 10 year old black lab (she lives with my mom) and I love her to death. Unfortunately my Fiance isn’t a dog lover so I’m going to have to work on him before I can ever get a puppy of my own!

OP, your little girl looks beautiful. Love labs! We had a yellow lab growing up and he was the BEST dog ever.
