AWWWW, she’s soooo cute!  Like others, I am concerned that she was taken from her litter too soon.  Eight weeks is the minimum, with 10-12 weeks being preferable.  What happened that she was taken away so soon?  Poor pup!

Wishing you well with your new family member!

I’m a lab-lover– we have a chocolate!– but I would never bring a dog home before 8 weeks.  She needs that time to socialize with her littermate and learn things like bite-control and how to interact with other dogs– things you can’t teach her nearly as well. Definitely do some research, please.

Freakin adorable. We have a chihuahua right now (obtained by me before the relationship began). We decided another dog would make him jealous & we’d wait until he passed to get 2nd, which DH will pick. Top chioces def include a yellow or chocolate lab! He needs a larger golf course doggie.

Adorble! I think lab puppies the cutest. I especially love the second and third pics, sleeping puppies melt my heart.

@TigerFanRN:  It may have been breeder’s choice, but you chose the breeder, meaning you’re still responsible for choosing to take a puppy at 5 weeks. No knowledgable breeder would EVER in a million years let the puppies go before 8 weeks, and for some breeds 12.

Research and experience shows the social benefits to be true. Sure, a puppy can turn out ok when taken so young, but what is a breeder (or owner) thinking not trying to give the puppy the best start possible? Usually it’s more money for the breeder.

Cute dog though.
