I am SO excited today – we learned last night that the offer we put in on a house was accepted! I know we still have a few contingencies before we actually own the house, but we are so pumped! Honestly, the moment I walked into the home I knew it was it and we had a few stressful days of the seller dragging their feet but now we get a real shot at it. Knock on wood that nothing major comes up in the home inspection!!
Any advice from bees on purchasing their first home?? What’s next?? We are scheduling the inspection for this weekend, but then what??
I had photos up here from the RE site but I was told this was a bad idea 🙁 so I’ll post real photos that I take during the inspection!! Keep an eye out for them!

Congrats! We just closed on our first home back in August.
As for your inspector, follow them everywhere. Ask any questions or concerns you possibly have, even stupid things like “Where is the furnace filter when it comes time to replace it.”
Good luck!! The house is beautiful.

after the inspection passes. you’ll need an appraisal to make sure that the bank will approve your mortgage.
are you working with a realtor? they should be able to help guide you from there on, with regards to setting up a closing, making sure the title company is there and recognized, etc.

@LiliKitty: Thanks! I think I’ll Google a list of questions to ask during inspection. We’ll probably also see if DH’s uncle can be there because he’s a contractor!
@blondie_bride: We’ve done some Zillow research on house appraisals in the area and it’s looking heavily in our favor! Fingers crossed!!
@emelee: and @mypinkshoes: THANK YOU!! We’ll have a big moving sale so we can purchase some spanking new decor for the home!! Hoping the inspection goes in our favor!!

@loveduck: Boston ROCKS!!! You should totally consider moving here. Just be sure to have access to a T line. That’s one HUGE selling point for this home!!!

Just so you know, when you post pictures of homes from realtor websites it is possible for people to do a reverse image search and discover your exact address. I think that’s kind of creepy and I wouldn’t want random people on the internet knowing my address.
But anyways, Congratulations! It looks like a lovely house

I would post my own photos, not ones already on the net.
Congrats! During your inspection, that is your time to measure everything, take photos, and get a good look around the house.
