- Wedding: September 2012
Im a married now!!!!!! Everything was absolutely amazing.
The night before the wedding we had our Rehearsal Dinner. Even though the rehearsal itself was the day before, a lot of people couldn’t make it to that so we did the dinner the following night. There was 18 of us, and it was a really great time. my dad met his side for the first time, and all went well.
After the dinner, me and hubby parted ways. He went to stay at his best mans house with all the boys, i came back home and it was just me and my best friend(maid of honour, who stayed at my house the few days before too). The rest of my girls went to their own places, which was fine. My sister had to go to some place to take care of a minor fender bender she had gotten into that day, and she had 24 hours to go clear it up, so she went there after the dinner. My other bridesmaid had her long distance boyfriend staying at her place so she went back home.
Me and my bestie came home, chatted, finished up a couple last minute details. I still had to write my vows down on paper, i had only written them in my phone thus far. Well i couldn’t find them!!!!1…. it was 1am and i was sooooo tired and thinking sh*t i have to rewrite them. I took one last look through my phone and FOUND THEM. Whew! I wrote them down quick, and off to bed i went.
I had a great sleep, thank god, because the 2 nights before i didn’t.
We woke up in the morning, chilled for about a half hour, took my cat to the vet for the day(she’s diabetic and needed insulin shots), then off we went to meet everyone at the salon for 9:45am.
My sister arrived at my house though first and got me in a panic because apparently the itinerary said to arrive at the salon at 8:45…… so on the 5 minute walk there i was panicked a bit… but actually it was in fact 9:45.
After we left the salon we all headed over to my hotel Penthouse suite….. which was freakin’ amazing with 2 floors and everything. So we got ready there, the photographer met us there and took some photos. we had some champagne brought up to the room and had a drink. Then we left on schedule to head to the bridal suite at the venue for 1:30
During this time, all the guys were at the venue setting up and putting up all the decorations. They weren’t allowed to start till noon, and then at 1:30 they were to head up to the tree house to change while i came in and did a quick walk around.
They called us on our way there and told us to kill some time because things weren’t close to being ready, and guests were already arriving….. a half hour before the doors were open.
So we did just that……… we went to a pub up the street and had some shots. haha. And it started to RAIN!!!!!
Finally we got there….. There were some glitches with the PA system so there was no pre-ceremony music playing, the band leader had to run out and get a new PA system, People started eating all the popcorn from the popcorn bar(which was supposed to be covered) so they had to move the entire thing up to the bridal suite.
So we got all that fixed, our DOC brought us up a bottle of Champagne so we popped that open and had a drink, had photos taken, and then we did our exchange of vows from around a doorway.
our DOC came and got us to get ready to line up. Music started…. my first bridesmaid got her shoe caught between the boards halfway down the aisle, but she champed it out. She pretended nothing happened and instead of yanking on her shoe she just slipped it off casually and kept going. I didn’t realize this until after i made it to the front and our Justice of the Peace asked her if she wanted her shoe back. Someone had dislodged it and held onto it, haha.
The ceremony was AMAZINGGGGG. The rain cleared up JUST before the girls made their walk, and by the time i got to the front the sun came out and it was awesome.
During the ceremony there was a bird in the background on the fence making horrible loud noises the whole time, and then when the time came to pop the champagne for a toast before walking back down the aisle, out Justice of the Peace popped it, the cork flew towards the fence, and we never heard the noise after that. It actually turned out to be a squirrel, i thought it was a bird, but either way, we think he hit it with the cork, hahah.
When we were gathered with everyone after the ceremony my brother came over to talk to me and i broke down. There is alot of turmoil in the family with my brother, and he hasn’t really been part of the family for quite a few years now… i haven’t talked to him in like 3 years, but i invited him anyway… i didn’t see him sitting in the front with the rest of my family so when he came up to me after i just bawled. so many emotions involved with our relationship but i was happy he was there.
The rest of the day flew by….. it was the most amazing day.
Our grand entrance got kind of messed up with the timing. but noone noticed. Apparently our first dance song didn’t make it onto the iPod, so the band leader whipped out his phone and pulled it up on YouTube…
Everyone loved every detail. They loved the polaroid guest book, the hor’deuvres, they LOVED the band, they loved the dinner, they all had an amazing fun time. Noone even noticed that we did not have a cake, or a garter or bouquet toss, or any other of that traditional stuff.
Here’s some non-pro pics
