My birthday was this past weekend so my now FI(!) took me to a fancy dinner Friday night to celebrate. After dinner we went to this little spot at the beach overlooking our city skyline where two years ago on my birthday he had told me he loved me for the first time.
When we got to the spot there was a guy sitting there smoking weed! My poos Fiance was freaking out inside, although he didn’t let on at all. We walked down the boardwalk a little ways just admiring the view. After a little while he said let’s go get some dessert and we headed back to the car. I had been suspicious the last couple of weeks that it might happen that night but as we headed back to the car I thought, well I guess not. But I was wrong. When we got back to the exact spot he had told me he loved me he stopped. The other guy had left and we were alone. He started saying that two years ago he had told me he loved me right where we were. I told him that was the best birthday. He told me such sweet things about how he feels about me and then he got down on one knee. As soon as he started kneeling I burst into tears. On bended knee he told me how we wants to raise a family with me and grow old with me and I just cried and laughed and smiled and nodded at the same time. It was just pure joy. He opened the ring box and asked me to marry him and I managed to get out a yes. He jumped up and we just hugged and kissed and he was laughing and smiling too and just ridiculously happy. After a minute or two of that I realized I was missing something! I didn’t have the ring on my finger yet! He put it on my finger and it is perfect! He then asked “What’s the best birthday now?”, haha! We enjoyed the moment for a bit and then went to the car to call our parents. After sharing the news with our families we went to this amazing dessert restaurant and had champagne and the best desserts!
I could not have imagined a more perfect proposal for me. It was so thoughtful and meaningful. I am so happy and excited to get to spend the rest of my life with my man!
And now for the ring:
