I can’t pass up telling this story because it was absolutely the most perfect proposal I could have dreamed up.
First, you must know that I am obsessed with all things Disney. It probably borders on insanity. Each December we go to Disney World for vacation. It’s perfect- crowds are lower; weather is cooler and it’s, of course, the happiest place on Earth.
When we ventured down last December for our annual rendezvous with the big mouse, I had no idea I was starting a Cinderella story. If you’re familiar with WDW, you know that park has extra magic hours for hotel guests. We always take advantage of those because a) the park is practically dead and b) they happen from 12 a.m. to 3 a.m. and Cinderella’s Castle is absolutely stunning at night.
One of those Extra Magic Hours occurred on the night of December 28. I was napping since I knew I would be out until 3 a.m. and didn’t want to be a rude, tired bear to everyone. I should have known something was up, because when I woke up, I found my then boyfriend sitting on the bathroom floor reading. He said it was because he didn’t want to wake me. I now guess it was because there was no conceivable way that he could sleep.
We ventured into the park and Cinderella’s castle was beautiful, as always. He asked me if I wanted to take a picture in front of the castle. Of course I did, I’m a photographer and obsessed with photos. We handed the camera over and posed for the picture. When I turned back to him he bending on to one knee and asking if he could ask me a very important question. For the first time in my life, I was speechless so I just nodded my approval.
He then went on to ask if I would marry him. I would have said “yes” no matter where he proposed, but the fact that it was right in front of the Castle brought me to tears. It was the most amazing proposal I could have ever hoped for, the thought he put into that special moment for me was so touching.
So, there you have it, my Cinderella story.

Thank you ladies!!
@yearnsforgod – Haha, yayy! Isn’t Disney just fabulous? I do have one of him on his knee & now that I’m on my laptop, I’m going to try & attach it. I wanted a Disney wedding so bad at the Wedding Pavilion, but it’s just not in the budget. His family is huge and there would be no way to afford that. However, I’m planning on a few hidden Mickeys to pop up in the theme :p We are also planning to do a Disney honeymoon – cannot wait to wear the white Minnie ears with the veil attached 😀
I also attached the ring pic. It’s the only one I can find at the moment, my personal pictures are so disorganized.

Awwww…what an absolutely MAGICAL proposal! I, too, am a huge WDW fan. As a matter of fact, I just made a reservation for March. I haven’t been in almost two years, so I’m going through “WDW withdrawal”. lol Anyway…I’m so thrilled for you and I just LOVE the Hidden Mickey idea, your pics in front of the castle, and your awesome ring pic. Congratulations!!!
P.S. I see a Mickey & Minnie cake topper in your future. Or, a cool cake like one of these?!
