Hi Bees I just ordered our supplies for our Save-The-Date Cards and I just wanted to share because I am doing them on the cheap 🙂
I ordered 150 Stardream Opal envolopes from Amazon.com. They come in packs of 50 for 17.90. I cant wait to get them! They are going to be gorgeous!!!!!
I also ordered a custom embosser from Amazon.com. I read on these boards that stardream envelopes dont take ink well so I chose an embosser over a custom stamper for our return addresses. Embossers are pretty expensive (like $60) but I found this one for $22.88. TIP: Once you make your order, they cotact you to pick your font and imput your name and address. Not a bad deal Yay!
For our actual Save the Dates, (photo below) I created a 4×6 STD on photoshop after seeing a similar design on pinterest. I am ordering 150 4×6 matt finish prints from Shutterfly.com. Shutterfly is a bit more expensive but they are the only company I can find that uses paper with a blank back. Photo prints usually have fuji film or kodak on the back. You can also ad a custom back print (up to 80 characters) so I am adding our wedding website address on the back because I didnt like it as part of the STD design.
These prints cost me $26.73. (with their current 50 free promo)
So far with all my shipping I have only spent 114.09 for my STD’s. Now I just need stamps. 🙂
What do you think of the design? Ill keep yall updated when everything comes in 🙂

I received my stardream enveolopes and I love them! They arent as sparkly as I thought they would be but they are gorgeous just the same.
I ended up ordering 100 prints from Walgreens because it was cheaper AND I had a coupon code! TENPRINT (10 cent 4×6 prints) I was origionally was going to go with shutterfly even though they cost a lot more becasue I thought they had a blank back. Before I put my order in, I checked some photos that I got from them previously and they definitely say kodak on the back! So I decided to give up on haveing a completely black back and decided to go with a cheaper printer. I saved 16 cents per print plus the shipping because I am having them sent to the store. I will post photos of the STD’s and envelopes once I pick them up 🙂
So now my total for my DIY STD’s is: $99.20! Stamps are going to kill me! I’ll update yall once i know how much that will cost.
