- Wedding: March 2018
* I love reading all of the engagement stories on here, and I have been posting for a week or so, so I thought I’d post mine*
Let me begin my telling you the movie 27 dresses = my life last year. I have 3 best friends. They all got married within a year. I was Maid/Matron of Honor for all 3. And my dad got remarried and I officiated. And a good friend got married and I was a bridesmaid. And then due to all my wedding experiance I helped another friend with her Maid/Matron of Honor duties and shower planning etc. So weddings have been my life for a while now.
Last October was the end of wedding season for me, it was my last gig as Maid/Matron of Honor (my 19 year old sister has a boy attention span of about 2 weeks so I’m safe for a while) and I was about burned out with weddings. Mr. Vista and I have been together since we were 15, but there was no way we could afford a wedding and my parents don’t exactly have the funds to chip in. So I was thinking this was it for weddings for a while. I had just started a new (awesome) job in my career field, but he is still in college so I was ready for a break.
We live in Oregon, so we decided to take a whole week off to co to the east coast for the wedding. As Maid/Matron of Honor i wanted to help with the couple days before And since we were flying to JFK and had friends in NYC we would Have one full day in the city to have adventures after. Mr. Vista said he wanted to plan the day, so I said fine with me!
We started the mornign with breakfast in the cutest diner. He had it all picked out and the food was amazing! Then we took a cab to central park and took a boat ride on the lake. Then I wanted to go shopping so we went to chinatown and he bought me a "designer" purse. Then back uptown for my surprise. We got stuck in traffic and he was so worried we would be lae but he wouldn’t tell me what for. It turned out his plan was to go to the top of Rockafeller center,a dn he planned it so we would be up there at sunset.
Despite the traffic his timing was perfect. We were up on top the rock, looking out at the most perfect scene, and he got down on one knee in front of all those people and proposed. I was so happy i jumped up and down! I bought some silly Tpo OF The Rock champagne glasses to use at the wedding at the gift shop, and then off for one more surprise, Champagne at the plaza to celebrate! We had chocolate covered strawberries and champagne at the plaza, which I have Always wanted to do.
I was even excited for our trip to end, so I could go home and tell my family!
