This isn’t what I had imagined but I do love him.. and happy we are together! I guess I wouldn’t change it.. ok I lied.. I might have.. He said he was so nervous he just wanted to get it over with..

We were driving around, he took me to best buy and said lets park on the end so we can walk some (I’m all about the losing weight). Then I decided lets not go in.. so he said lets go to the mall.. I said sure so he did the same thing.. lets park far away.. so he decided to go on the top roof of the mall garage and parked in a way back corner… starts talking to me.. and says and this is why I want to ask you to marry me and pulls out a beautiful ring. No one knee.. in a car.. on top of a mall garage. We are in our mid 20’s.

Awww, this might be my most favourite thread of them all. I laughed so hard at the mountain proposals, hahaha.

I started off my ruining his first proposal attempt – there are two parks by our house, and my boyfriend suggested we go for a walk. So we headed to park #1 and went for a walk, which is pretty normal for us and not suspicious at all. There were people EVERYWHERE, so he started talking about how we should head to park #2. And I kept saying “That’s silly! We’re already at this park! What’s wrong with this park? I’m not driving to another park!”

So we went home and unbeknownst to me, the ring went back in its hiding place. A few days later, we went to park #2 and he was successfully able to get me alone for about 5 seconds on a trail in the park. He was mad that there were two guys fishing in the spot that he had WANTED to propose, so instead it was next to a giant dead uprooted tree. He definitely surprised the hell out of me though, so he gets full marks for that! He says he’s just happy I said yes (and quickly!) haha.

@thehoneybear: OMG mine was kind of like yours.  We had an arguement and he finally blurted out “if I had a ring, I would ask you to marry me right now, but I don’t.  I want to marry you”.  I didn’t say yes or anything at that time and didn’t really take what he said 100%.  Then he had planned to ask my dad for my hand on Mother’s day when we were meeting my parents because my dad asked him to bring some shirts for him.  So my dad decided he didn’t want the shirts.  Fail. haha.  So then he called me dad and asked him over the phone instead.  My dad proceeded to call me and tell me that my Fiance asked him, but I think he was a little confused because my dad asked me what I said.  So I told my dad he hadn’t asked me yet.  So a month goes by and we are out to dinner.  I started asking about where I should live since my lease was ending.  He said something along the lines of “well you don’t want to live with anybody until you’re engaged, so maybe you should look for a place?”.  I got really mad and blurted out “FINE, I’ll live alone forever”, then I started crying.  He then told me that he asked my dad, and I said “I know”.  So he said “why are you crying then!”.  A couple weeks later we went to pick out a ring and a week later he picked it up with his parents.  I came home from a busy day and he took the remote for the stereo out of his pocket, started playing “on bended knee” by Boyz to men and asked me to marry him.  Phew…that was a long story haha.

Ooh! Ooh! Pick me! Mine was horribly unromantic, but pretty awesomely us, also.

I knew he had the ring, and it was sitting in our house somewhere. For years, I had told him I really wanted a special, big proposal. So I kept waiting. Finally, I told him I really didn’t care… all that mattered was that he wanted to marry me.

Fast forward a week or so, we come from work (FI picks me up from the metro station), and he had had a terrible day. The worst. Before we even got in the door, out of the blue, he told me, “I really want to propose to you. Would that be okay?” I responded with, “If you want to..” And he unlocked the door, and we went inside. I changed into my jammies and started loading the dishwasher. I surely didn’t think he’d do it while I was in my jammies! Well, I bent down to put a plate in, and there he is on one knee with my ring. I’m seriously shocked. He told me, “I love you so much. The best part of every day is coming home to you, and I always want to come home to you. Will you marry me?” I said, “Really? Are you sure?” He said yes, and I said yes, and then he said, “Now go call your dad!” haha, Even now when I look back on it, I smile and laugh… yeah, that’s my guy! So bursting with love that he proposed in front of our dishwasher!

I was packing his suitcase for a vacation to see his parents and chatting with him when he said “I can’t wait to bring my fiancee home to mom”, I looked at him and he got down on one knee and asked me. Mind you we’re in our pajamas with sportscenter on in the living room but I couldn’t imagine anything else.

@thehoneybear: haha I’ve been there (period emotions)! Thanks, it is pretty sweet, though at the time I thought he was being silly. He mentions once every couple weeks (including once today) that he should have taken the ring back when I asked if he was sure and then proposed another time, making me wait even longer. Boys…

We were sitting on the couch watching the Super Bowl.  We were both on our laptops, on Facebook, and he asked me via FB chat.  Seriously.  It was perfect though.
