We have been waiting as patiently as possible for 2 1/2months to receive the CD’s with our wedding pictures and the photo album our photograper made for us. She mailed them to us on Friday the 12th and they’re still not here and we definitely should have received them by now.
I called her Saturday and she said she would be getting back to me once she got home. I didn’t hear back from her again until today but theres no good news. She had surgery this past Friday and hasn’t been home. She did say she tried looking up the tracking on her phone but it didn’t let her. I believe her, so not trusting her is not an issue. She has been more than awesome this whole time and I am able to believe USPS messed up somewere since they messed up once after our wedding. (They lost our reception hall deposit after the wedding and the venue had to write us a new check 3wks later.)
I’m just sad because I was so excited to finally receive them and see all the awesome work she’s done. We have seen a few sneak peaks she has sent us and they’re awesome. I’m bummed out and hopefully when she gets home she can track them down and the issue can be resolved.

Did she keep a copy? Maybe she can mail the copy? And yes, tracking is good but sheesh, wedding pictures are precious and it should be handled with care. I hate not doing things personally and having to rely on others.

@happyface- We live 6hrs away from eachother so that’s the only option we have. She had the album custom made. She made us 10 copies of edited pictures for us and family members and then made us a copy of the original with all 1500ish pictures taken that day.
We got married 4hrs from where we live in our hometown and the photographer we went with is still 2rs away from our hometown.

If they are lost in the mail, your photographer will need to make you another copy of the photo disk and another album. Don’t lose hope- you’ll get your photos, it may just take longer than you expected.

I would ask for the tracking #….

@BooRadley- I know she would make us more copies and another album but I’m just disappointed because we were so close to getting them and USPS messed up. Part of me hopes that they’re still on their way but for some reason it’s taking a little longer than expected.

Sorry that happened to you!
Get the tracking number from your photographer & a description of the box she sent it in. Then go to your local post office with that info & talk to them about it.
Last year, our mailman delivered a package to the wrong house (the seller typed our address wrong so it wasn’t really USPS’ fault) & the next day I talked to USPS about it (the tracking number said it was delivered the day before)… it turned into a claim & the mailman remembered where he delivered it to & it took a few days but we got it. So talk to your post office soon, while its still in their memory. It might not have been mis-delivered, if you weren’t home when they came maybe its waiting for you at the post office. Once I was waiting for something & turns out it was at the post office & the mailman didn’t leave a slip so I had no idea. Also, depends on how they shipped it, parcel post/media mail usually takes a week minimum to go anywhere.
Hope you get your photos soon!!

@serabell- Our town is so small that there is no mail delivery to our physical address so we have a PO Box like everyone else in town. I’ve gone to the post office everyday to check and nothing. I will contact her tomorrow and see if she can give me the tracking number. I am hoping that for some reason or other it’s just taking a tad bit longer to get here.

Do you know if she purchased insurance when shipping? If for some reason it does get lost in the land of no return, the insurance should hopefully cover the cost of re-producing the album and images.
Sorry you have to go through this, I bet it was hard enough waiting 2 months to get them and now you know they’re out there somewhere!

From what I’m seeing, the wedding pictures are not lost. Copies of them and the photo albums are lost. But sounds like they can be remade.
I’d have her remake them immediately and ship them out via fedex. If you ever get the other shipment, fine. If not, oh, well. So get her to work right away.

Maybe she can send you the photos in digital form?
I guess there are a lot of photos but maybe she can send some of them so you can get some of them to look on. She can use for exaple http://www.photago.com where you can start a album and she can upload photos and you can download them directly to your own computer.

Aww I hope this gets resolved for you.

So I have some good news. I talked to the photographer and she tracked the picture and album down via the tracking number. They had been shipped but for one reason or another the USPS put a hold and said they were undeliverable. She said she was going to pick them up at the post office and send them to me via UPS overnigt and stick a certificate for a free family session in there for us as well. She said we could either use it for ourselves next time we’re in town or give it to someone. (Of course we are going to use the certificate for ourselves next time we’re in her area.) I’m glad the issue was resolved and they weren’t lost. We should be receiving the pictures sometime today hopefully. I’M SO EXCITED!
