And was silent for over two months, despite us writing to her.
I’m just so sad. In France, you legally have to say ‘oui’ (‘yes’), nothing else will be accepted as consent. Yet my now hubby was so excited he said ‘Absolutely!) and had to say yes again. It was an incredibly sweet and loving moment. And she missed it…

Maybe one of your guests caught it .. unless you had one of those unplugged weddings.

That’s the biggest part of a ceremony.. how did she miss it?!

@Casimir23: What, how could anyone mess that up? That’s terrible!
Have you tried emailing all your guests to see if anyone was doing their own video?

We’ve already asked everybody. Nobody caught it, and I even told my dad to stop filming because she was filming for us. What’s the point of hiring a professionnal if they do this to you!
She was filming in clips of 30 seconds to a minute at a time. And she claimes that she couldn’t understand the French, but she never told us that she wouldn’t be able to follow the ceremony. I’m just really sad…

What? Did she offer you some kind of compensation? I don’t understand why you wouldn’t record the whole thing.

No, she is refusing to even admit that she has failed at her job.
She’s a child, and is reacting like a child. I hope others can learn from this.
Ask questions that might seem stupid- like “will you film the entire ceremony non-stop?”
She didn’t even use a real video camera! Just a regular camera on video mode.

She didn’t even use a real video camera!? What!? That is beyond unacceptable! I would be writing some reviews if I were you…

@Casimir23: Not even a real video camera? And she claimed to be a professional?
Filmed in 30 second bursts? That’s one of the most ridiculous things I’ve ever heard. Hasn’t she heard of just videoing continuously and editing it afterwards?
I’m sorry you’ve been burned like that. That’s really sad and annoying 🙁

Is she a professional? Do you have a contract with her? Can you use her error as a breach of contract?

She’s in France on a tourist visa, so we graciously agreed to not having a contract. She didn’t contact us for two months, then contacted us to ask us what type of video we would like.
When we told her, she accused us of changing what we wanted in the videos, after apparently having working on 6 videos- which she never told us about and we’ve not seen.
We told her that if she disliked so much that she couldn’t work for us, then we would like a refund equivalent to the videos. She flat-out refused, and then told us about these apparent videos she’s already made.
I can’t really see a solution, as the moment is lost. It’s just sad.

@Casimir23: Was it a DSLR, like
this? Because some of those are good enough that they can actually be used for quality video.
I suspect the “videographer” didn’t know what the heck she was doing. I’m sorry she missed the most crucial part of your ceremony.
