My SO is Italian and I’m Spanish. In typical Spanish ceremonies, we have the literal tying of the knot in which the Godparents place a decorative rope around the couple while they are kneeling infront of the priest at some point in the ceremony. Do Italians have anything related to this? Just very curious. Thank you.

I don’t know if Italians have anything related to this, but if the ceremony is meaningful to you and you want to have it, you should do it! I think the wedding lasso is really neat.

I love it when multiple cultures combine and share customs. Regardless of if Italians do it, you should!

I come from an Italian family. I’m not aware of this tradition in Italian culture. But I don’t see why it would be a problem to put it in. Sounds great.
