My wedding is 7 months away, but I am trying to figure out some of the logistics. I live out of state from my wedding (I have to fly home) and I’m trying to figure out how many days before the wedding I should plan to go home. I have a pretty flexible work schedule, so I’d like to figure out soon how much time I need at home so I can plan accordingly.
Some additional information: My Maid/Matron of Honor and Mom are at home and are really helpful, so they can take care of details. I have vendors for flowers, cake, etc. so I’m not planning on having a lot of last minute DIY things to do, but I will have things to do like delivering out of town baskets… etc.

First – check on the marriage license laws for the state and county where the wedding will take place. Some have a requirement on how many days in advance you must get it and the hours that they are open to get one.
We live in California and got married in Georgia. Here is our schedule:
– Wednesday: Fly to Georgia
– Thursday: Meet w/ officiant, get marriage license, run errands
– Friday: Errands, get dress steamed, bridesmaid brunch, rehearsal, rehearsal dinner
– Saturday: Get married!
– Sunday: Brunch with family, depart for honeymoon
Honestly, it FLEW by. We had enough time for everything but I think an extra day would have been nice too. So I’d say take the whole week if you can.

I want to go home 2 weeks early but I wouldn’t go less than a week and a half before the wedding. We live in VA and are driving down to FL. I think a week is probably sufficient, but I just like to go home, lol.

We live in Georgia and had our wedding in Ohio. I flew in the Wednesday before the wedding (it was a Saturday wedding). It was technically enough time, but I really wish I could have gotten there earlier. It would have been way less stressful! I’d say get there 5 days in advance if possible.
