There are plenty of Vermont made (or seem like they are) items you could add:  Green Mountain Salsa & Chips (though actually made in North Carolina!), Westminster Crackers, a lot of Cabot Cheese doesn’t actually need to always be refrigerated – it can be left out for up to 72 hours or more I think.  Maple Syrup, pancake mix, chocolates, TONS of jams & jellies made here, apple butter, there’s a company that makes Ver-mints that are mints in an altoid type tin…. and BEER! 🙂  try the Vermont Country Store online for ideas since I seem to have run out!

I have the following items in our Out of Town bags: (two of everything)

Small bag of Cheesits

Small bag of Pirate Booty

Granola Bar

Bottle of Water

Packet of Advil

Hard Maple Candy

Soft Maple Candy

Lake Champlain Chocolates

Wintergreen Lifesavers

Map of Stowe

I feel like it’s enough!  I had to keep the soft maple candy in the refridgerator until a week before the wedding b/c it can go bad if left out too long.

I am going to to do Out of Town bags for our guests.  I think I’m going to visit the “Vermont/Local” sections of grocery stores and markets to find some munchies to include.  We made Vermont baskets for our families for christmas once (they had all sorts of stuff, beer/soda, hot sauces, chocolates galore).

How about a VT magnet or even a Christmas Ornament since it’s close to that time of year.  You could also go to an apple orchard and get carmel or chocolate dipped apples. Maybe a bottle of beer from Magic hat? Scrabble is also made in fairfax, if you could find some travel one’s.
