My Fiance is Turkish, and three family members of his will be taking the long trip over to the states for the wedding.
They will be staying at a small hotel about a block away from our apartment. They speak very little english, so I am expecting that Fiance, myself and my family will be with them most of the time during the week before our wedding, up until we drive them to the airport the monday after the wedding.
Oh, and let me also throw in that I haven’t met them in the flesh before!
My question for all of you is, I am trying to think of how we can make them feel as much at home as possible. I thought an Out of Town Guest Bag would be nice, but what should I put in it? Food? Deodorant? I don’t want to inslut them, but I also don’t want to waste money on something that they really wouldn’t use.

Mmmm Turkish Delight candy …. Turkish Coffee .. yumm.
Ok. Just make them feel at home. I would gather a little basket full of things that you and your fiance love. Is this their first time in the states?
I wouldn’t really get them hygenic supplies … I’m sure they’ll bring it or the hotel will provide it.
Do you have something from where you live that’s famous … like some food or whatever?

Hmm, stuff in my area? Well, Clark Bars and Heinz ketchup! lol. I’m from Pittsburgh. Isn’t that a bit random to put Heinz 57 in their guest bag? I don’t think they use ketchup much in Turkey.
I could do Turkish delight, but they get that stuff so much over in Turkey, that they really are trying to get the full american feel.
You did bring up a good point. Since this is the first time for them in the US, I could also get them some all american goodies….
