Sorry if there is already a post of this somewhere, but in my searching I couldn’t find one. I’d love to see all your pictures of your out of town guest welcome packs. Mostly I’m interested in the packaging and how it all fits together, or what kind of a bag/basket/thing you put it all in!
I’m trying to come up with something that isn’t too bulky and that is also relatively environmentally friendly!

I don’t have any pics yet (obviously since I’m still 4 months out). But, my mom has been picking up small-ish baskets at Michael’s and places like that. We will put bows on them to match the wedding colors and put little snacks and bottled water and stuff like that in them.

I was maybe thinking that if enough of the stuff was flat, I could just wrap ribbon or some rustic looking twine around the whole bundle, finish it off with a gift tag or something. It would be cheap and not use too much packaging… although I’ve heard that Michael’s baskets can often go on sale so maybe doing it that way is cheaper than I’m imagining…

I definitely should have done this by now…alas. I haven’t. I’m going back to my hometown in a couple of weeks and then my mom and I will put them together. If I remember, I’ll look up this thread and post when they are finished!

I used gift bags. I know they aren’t as environmentally friendly as baskets but, one thing to keep in mind, is if you give them something more permanent (like a basket) can they get it home with them? If they are flying, putting a basket in their suitcase may not be that easy.
