I am putting together the following:

-water bottle

-subway map

– red apples

-nyc postcards

-I love ny hats (haven’t bought them yet)

-trail mix (Trader Joes)

-candy (sneakers, twix, hershey bars)

-tea bags

-instant coffee

I love your honey-roasted almond idea. Its really cute, I might steal it.  Question, where is the MTA gift store?  Did they provide maps for you as well as the bags? I had no idea they had a gift shop.

I am "thirding" hand sanitizer! Actually, I would get this in place of lotion (a lot of people are picky about the lotion they choose!).

I would also put a little card with ICE numbers… people they will need to get in touch with day of in case of emergency (MOH, Bridesmaid or Best Man, DOC)

Definitely the hand sanitizer. Another idea is to put little note cards with cute info about you and your fiance. Like had our first kiss under this bridge or first date at this pizzaria. That way your guests can get to know the city while learning a bit more about you.

I so love this thread and I love the idea of the honey roasted nuts from the street vendors.  There so good, I’m stealing this from you.

Great ideas! The bags sound so cute.

Personally, I would nix the personalized lip balm and lotion. Most people have certain products they already use in that area. I know that I’m pretty picky about those kinds of products I use, and for me, it would get wasted (and I can’t imagine personalized anything is super cheap!). The hand sanitizer is a great idea, though, because people might not have thought to bring it with them for a wedding. The honey-roasted nuts is perfect, too! I know that when I’m in NY, the nut vendors are the ones we look for 🙂

If you’re having an outdoor wedding, you might also want to include sun block.

For our Out of Town bags, we’re keeping it really simple. We’re using gable boxes, and since potato chips were supposedly invented in the town where we’re getting married, we’re throwing in regular and chocolate-covered potato chips, water bottled in the town, maps and a weekend itinerary, personally signed by both of us.

Have fun!

We also got these free “official NYC guides and maps” from http://www.nycgo.com. They are great and you only have to pay for shipping and handling (I think you can also pick them up at the tourist info centers if you don’t want to pay shipping and handling charges).

We also put in a little note on our favourite places to eat near their hotel, from diners for a great breakfast to yum sushi places for dinner.
