I am wondering if we should do Out of Town bags in our scenario. We’re marrying in Iowa. Almost all the guests are traveling to be there, either from Colorado or Texas, a few from farther away in Iowa.
Almost all the guests will be staying with us. We’ve rented a 3 story house for the week (think “hunting lodge” type place, very rural and big)…. it accomodates 20-plus people. So aside from maybe my FI’s Aunts, who have money and might WANT a separate accomodation, the rest are staying with us for anywhere from two nights to the entire week and we will be feeding them and so forth for the duration.
thoughts? Should we still do the bags and if so, what to include?

I wouldn’t do the bags. Instead, I would take the bathroom basket idea that some of us are using at the ceremony and instead make a community basket in each of the bathrooms with extra toiletries that your guests may have forgotten to bring with them. I am sure you will already have food and drink available for everyone. You could maybe also include some pashimas and/or flip flops; depending on your location. They could use the pashimas, if it gets cool at night and the flips flops could be used as house slippers.

@noritake22: Good ideas! It will probably be cold, from what everyone is telling me (since we don’t live there I’m lost!)… so something warm sounds nice! 🙂 And maybe some trial size toiletries.
