- Wedding: February 2015 - Mount Hermon
I asked BF the other day if we could do this. See, we’ll have a short, early reception and serve only desserts. So I thought, “How fun would it be to go out to an everyday (nice, but not black tie required, $200 entree nice) restaurant, in our wedding finery?” Pretty fun. I think the staff would get a kick out of it.

Mr TTR & Eloped… to a Destination Wedding (one of our favourite spots in the Florida Keys). We married on the Beach… just the 2 of us saying our Vows with the Officiant & Photographer.
I wore a “Destination” styled (flowy) Wedding Dress (but clearly a Wedding Dress)… and he a very laid back outfit by Tommy Bahama (solid colour… but very much an Island feel)
It was quite clear to EVERYONE when we left our Hotel Room on the way to the Beach, that we were on our way to get married. Several people along the way stopped to say CONGRATULATIONS, take our picture, etc.
So after the Wedding when we went out for a Celebratory Drink (at the Hotel) followed by Dinner at one of our favourite Restaurants, it was very clear too that we’d just gotten married.
We got a few comments… mostly more CONGRATULATIONS
But for the most part, no one bothered us too much, we enjoyed our Dinner overlooking the ocean in peace (wonderful memories and NO Regrets)
I would recommend anyone who is Eloping or having a “Small Intimate Wedding” (Courthouse – JOP etc) to consider doing the same. Your Wedding Day is uber-special, may as well make the most of it. I certainly wore my dress for hours and hours, and LOVED every moment of it.
Hope this helps,

@AllyCRN: I always wanted to get a group of ladies together and go bowling in our wedding dresses. I think dinner would be fine.

@AllyCRN: WE DID THIS!
We had a luncheon, then went to dinner in our wedding finery before going out dancing… Still in our wedding wear! It was SO much fun!

@AllyCRN: I did this. For our traditional wedding that wasnt legal–we had a lunch wedding. At about 6pm we met everyone at an Irish bar. I spent a lot of money on the dress, hair and makeup, so I went without changing. It was so much fun. I got lots of attention and congratulations.
Then we got legally married on our honeymoon in Vegas. I was in a simple while summer dress and birdcage veil. We went to diner afterward and rode the gondola at the Venietian. I got sooo much attention–surprising considering all the other people getting married there. In fact there was a bus load of Chinese tourists that snapped a ton of pics.
I highly recommend it!
Use after our Vegas wedding
