We are having our ceremony and reception at a beautiful park overlooking the Mississippi. I’m not worried about rain or climate, but I’m terrified that it will look cheap and childish. I’ve enjoyed doing a lot of DIY projects and keeping it low budget, but now I’m worried how it will really play out. Please post pics of your DIY, outdoor, or low budget weddings so I can see it will be okay.

Some of the prettiest outdoor weddings I have seen have absolutely no additional decoration.

@julies1949: I’d like to see too!

Are you kidding? It will look beautiful! No decorations needed. We got married in an open air chapel, so I won’t post the pics here. There is literally TONS of inspiration on pinterest and the blogs, and they’re all beautiful!

We used whiskey barrels provided by the venue, so that didn’t cost us anything extra. Then had 2 flower arrangements at the beginning of the aisle.

I don’t think you have anything to worry about. With a natural setting you don’t need much. I made 2 large urns for the altar then used curly willow, candles, and a few roses to line the aisle.

This cost just over $500 but the venue did the decorations in house (2 swags at gazebo, rose petals in aisle, and poms on every other chair).
