We are having a DJ. We are going to have him set up under the reception tent so he won’t have to move equipment.

We’ll either have an acoustic guitarist or an ipod with speakers… trying to decide.

Definitely if you’re outdoors, try not to have super specific songs for people to walk to or exact timing – it’s hard to hear and coordinate when you’re outdoors for things that specific.

I’m planning on just having music in the background and just switching to a certain song when I walk.

Good luck!

We’re having a string quartet. We were going to go the iPod route but lucked out with a set of outstanding musicians that we happened to find at a bridal fair.

We are running a cord, apparently. I thought it was so TACKY when Mr. Magic said “just run cord” but apparently, it is easily hidden in the grass. So I guess we are running cord from the barn to the tree we are getting married under, and our DJ will set something up there for the ceremony. It makes me anxious to not understand the exact plan, but my DOC, DJ/friend, and Mr. Magic all told me to chill out. Ha…fat chance!

DJ.  We debated having a string quartet, but the cheapest one we found was $500.

@MrsP-to-be: I love a violin. It is so beautiful and I think you can make it climactic. I went to a wedding where the recessional song was played by violin. It was bittersweet symphony… I loved it!

We’re getting married in the church, so we’re having a violinist, and the pipe organ (the one thing Fiance really wanted…)

We’re doing a string duo.  A quartet would have just been way too much for my tiny wedding.

We’re also doing an acoustic guitarist.  He’s bringing a battery powered amplifier as well.
