I haven’t bought any shoes yet but I’m still going to wear stilettos, I’ve seen people post about these plastic things you can put on the heels to protect them/ make sure they don’t dig into the ground.. I need to find the link again though

I am getting married outside but it’s not on grass so I am wearing heels but my friend who got married outside on grass got heels for pics that were inexpensive but got flip flops that her dress covered for the ceremony so she didn’t sink.

I am wearing a pretty pair of white sandals! Fits my style though.

I am wearing Nina Culver in navy blue, with option to switch to fit flops (to keep the height) if I get uncomfortable.

I got sole mates from amazon to keep from sinking into the grass.  One note on those–I bought the small size, and measured my heel’s width before buying.  I was on the borderline between small and medium width heel, and I went with the small.  I felt like even those were almost too big to fit snugly on my heel, so definitely, with the sole mates, measure and size down!!

I am also wearing non skid stick ons on the underside of the front of the shoe.

I’m getting married outside, on a meadow.  I am 5’0″ and my Fiance is 6’2″.  I hate being short, and love wearing heels especially when dressing up.  I wear heels a lot, and have worn heels when I was in my friend’s wedding last year and walked down grass.  Mine are 4.5″ heels (with a platform, so the actually heel seems a little shorter).  These are them ($50 at Sears.com):

so how did those sole mates work? were they useful? did your heel still sink in and the sole mate just protected the shoe? i ask because i can’t walk in heels to begin with and if i’m going to have stilettos on while walking down a grass path way i’m not going to look fabulous sinking into the ground! ahh! halp!

ps this is the site just so it’s in the thread 😉

I haven’t tried them, but was thinking about them for our outdoor wedding. Ceremony is on grass and I’m planning on stilettos. Reception is in a barn and we’re changing into running shoes (we are runners).

I’d also be very interested to hear if anyone had luck with sole mates.
