It might be chilly in your dress? Otherwise they could probably set up heaters, although that’s another rental. When does it start snowing in IL?

When do you have to decide? It sounds like kind of a “take your chances” scenario – it’s good there’s a plan B! But maybe you could just look at the weather at the end of this month and decide.. would you/your BMs be able to wear a shawl or something  to keep from freezing during the ceremony if you were outside?

@peachbaby4008: well, i’m from michigan originally, so i know ther weather can get pretty crappy that time of year. just bear in mind that even if the ceremont is only 15 minutes, people are expected to arrive early. I like the space heater idea ( just dont try to decorate them or you will start a fire lol).

I agree that you should see what is going on Nov 24th this year if you have time

If you are going to rent or have those outdoor heaters it should be fine .. if not … I would do it inside

If overall you think your guests would like being outdoors in the winter (snow or not) then go for it.

Personally, I would pass on the wedding and attend the reception if I knew the ceremony was going to be outside (unless it was an unusually warm and sunny November day in Illinois).  I would have no problem standing out there in cold weather for more than 15 minutes if I had on jeans, socks, warm shoes, a parka, a hat, gloves etc.  But… in normal wedding guest attire, a dress, nylons and high heels I only want to be outside in November the few minutes it takes to walk from the car to the venue.
