Below is our ceremony site and how it will look set up with basic chairs. We will stand right in front of that center tree.
I’m trying to decide if we should leave it natural or add something where we are going to stand.
Our rental company (we can only use one, it’s a county park with an exclusive contract) has an arch but it is really dated, so we don’t want to use it. So, I’m looking for some non-arch ideas to add decor, if we go that route.

I am personally a huge fan of nature and I find those archways kind of silly. The park that my Fiance and I are currently looking at has a tree that has a branch that forms an arch. I think nature does a fine job of decorating but you may disagree. 🙂 As for non arch ideas, you could have a pillar/table with a centerpiece on it?

Is it at all feasble in your budget to maybe have one or two medium sized flower arrangement on the sides of where you’ll be standing? You could also find some nice sized potted flowers to put on both sides and take it home afterwards. One of my good friends had potted mums along her isle as a bit of color in the vast of green surroundings. Maybe a pop of color will add a bit to it if you don’t like the arch but want something to “complete” the front area.

I’m not huge on overly decorating things. I say leave it natural, let nature do it’s work. That’s why you’re getting married in a park right?!

You could possibly hang some fun lanterns from the trees or candles in glass globes. However, if you’re having the reception in a completely different location, it would be smarter to spend your money decorating that venue instead 🙂
It looks pretty the way it is!

I know in the book, DIY Bride, there are step-by-step directions to make your own canopy. It seemed fairly simple and I’m pretty sure it was an inexpensive project (around $20?).

I like the idea of dressing it up…
My outside venue looks like this and will have silk lanterns and lighting and pretty tables and such for my twilight ceremony (not like the movie/ book… as in time of day!) haha…
It is all just a matter of opinion though… some people prefer it simple which is perfectly fine too!
