I am having an outdoor ceremony on top of a hill overlooking a creek. I hate wearing my hair up ( I have a small head ha ha) so I was hoping to curl my hair and just pin one side up away from my face, but i’m kind of worried about the wind messing it up really bad. You see, I live in Saskatchewan Canada and it is very flat here and has a reputation for extreme wind conditions…..
not sure what to do. I hate having my hair up so much that I don’t even want to do the half up half down thing :S I was wondering if anyone knows of any updos that can be easily taken down for the reception if I had to wear my hair up.

It was very windy when I had my bridal portraits done… like the wind yanked my veil out of my hair quite a few times and my mom had to chase it down. My hair looked good though! My stylist put what seemed like liquid spray cement in it once it was curled to my liking. There are some good hairsprays out there!

@calypso522: Ha ha! Yeah, your hair doesn’t look like it’s moving at all! Good to know. I have very long hair and it doesn’t hold curl well so cement hairspay sounds like the way to go! Ha ha!

You may want to go for a straightened look as there are a lot of products that you can use to keep hair from tangling without looking greasy. I use BioSilk but do some test runs; it’s easy to overdo it and end up with that greasy look. There’s also a product called In The Wind which is for preventing tangles on motorcycle rides; I can’t find it online any more but maybe eBay, or ask your local motorcycle shop if they know of a similar problem.
Very straight, shiny, sleek hair can look really elegant, especially with a very sharp/angular cut. It might be easier to try to keep it straight all day than to fuss with curls or updo’s in the wind.

@calypso522: It didn’t even occur to me that your veil is blowing but your hair isn’t! Now that is strong hairspray 😉

Or it blows too much that you have to take it out and carry it down the aisle
