I love going through my neighborhood at night and seeing all the Christmas lights! It sure cheers up the travel back home after work. We have some small window light displays, and then I strung some lights around a tree.
Do you hang up Christmas lights outside? What do they look like? I’ve also heard of services that will put up Christmas lights for you. Has anyone ever done that?

craigslistgirl: I love to see the Christmas lights too!
We live in a ground floor condo with a huge patio. We aren’t allowed to put hooks into the building for strings of lights.
This year I wanted a white feather tree inside, so we put up an artifical tree on the patio. Half of our patio is covered, so the tree is not out in the weather. It is decorated with tons of white mini lights, white feather owls, ice crystal branches, white poinsettia flowers and copper sinamay.
The evergreen hedge between our patio and the rest of the yard is covered in white curtain lights and everything is on a timer. It can all be seen from the street.
I don’t have any pics so here is a house down the street from us.

I used to hang lights outside but now I use them inside. I’ve never used a service to hang them. I’ve settled into window wreaths/garlands and solar candles since it’s a classic style for the house front and SO much easier to set up/take down. It also has an added security feature because the house looks the same whether we’re traveling or not.
