Hello all! I’m hoping you can help me with a dilema I am having. We are getting married at a country club on the deck, which means there is no real altar or focal point. My question to you is how can I decorate the spot where we will tie the knot to draw attention to it? I know some bees do arches and other similar things, but I’m just not sure how that would look on a deck. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated, along with photos, if you have any. I have attached the deck photo below along with a photo of the inside because we will have those gorgeous windows along 2 sides of the ceremony space, if that helps.
Thank you so much!

Very beautiful location! Why not ask the venue for ideas? I don’t know if I would go with an arch because it seems the view is georgous and in pictures you’d like that to be shown. How about potted flowers on each side of where you’ll stand? You may not see that in the close up pictures becaus they will be low but it will be enough to show where you’ll be standing for the ceremony

The place where I am getting married has a deck that goes over the pond so I know its a little different than the type of deck you will be using but I look through their pictures and a lot of brides drape tulling and flowers behind them as their decoration. Their website is http://www.theeditionat315.com or they have a lot more pictures on their facebook. I know they are different but it might help you get some ideas! Hope it helps! good luck!

Ha, I came across one of yours again!! Knowing exactly what that venue looks like I understand your dilemma. I wondered the same thing when I considered doing my ceremony there (haven’t completely nixed the idea). One of the things Deb suggested was possibly using those portable wooden divider/planters they have inside as a focal point for the ceremony.
My preferred option personally would be not an arch but an arbor something with straight lines and with wood stain to go with their decor.
