Hi All! I had an outdoor ceremony this past June. I was nervous the entire time about the weather. But I was dead set on an outdoor ceremony, and it actually cost us more than it would have been to have an inside ceremony.

Forecasts showed showers on my wedding day. When I went to my florist the day before the wedding, she tryed to convince me to call my venue and have them set up for the ceremony inside. I refused and hoped for the best. It rained the night before the wedding, and the morning was gloomy until 7am or so (we were up at 4am for hair and make up). But then it cleared up and it was a beautiful day! I am so glad I did not listen to my florist, because it was the ceremony of my dreams!

we’re having an outdoor ceremony followed by an outdoor reception… we’re supposed to have an abominable winter so I’m reeaaaallly hoping that means a relatively cool early summer! if it rains I guess we’ll move it all to the reception tent, but I’m just super hoping it doesn’t rain 🙂

I’m having an outdoor ceremony in Newfoundland in late June… If you know anything about Newfoundland you know there is a possibility of any of the 4 seasons coming out any given day…. I am hoping for a pretty day though

Getting married on the beach in June.  So it will be hot but I’m hoping the nice breeze will keep us cool!

I’m having an outdoor ceremony but the reception will be in an enclosed tent.  I think it’s totally worth the rain risk and if we’re blessed with good luck rain, we’ll have a plan to use the tent for double duty.

Our ceremony is outdoors. I had originally been completely against it but the indoor options for our venue were not my favorite. So the ceremony will be outside in June in Kentucky. Probably upper 80s. :/ If it rains, the ceremony will inside what they call the “barn” with isn’t really a barn at all. lol That is where cocktail hour is to be held if the sun is shining. The location outside is gorgeous so I really hope the weather holds up!!
Our cocktall hour/reception will be held inside.

We are having a private mountain top ceremony and an indoor reception. There are a few risks.. I don’t care if it rains or if it’s grey for the ceremony, it could be worse! My main concern is the wind. If it’s too high, the helicopter can’t safely land on the mountain and we’ll have to do a last minute location change to somewhere accessible by ground. I’ll be devastated if there’s high winds, but willing to take the risk. Regardless, I’m getting married.  *fingers crossed*

Mine is half-and-half: ceremony outside reception inside.  I just love the idea of being outside with flowers everywhere getting married under a gazebo 🙂

I’m chancing it, but the Farmer’s Almanac (YES, I’M WEIRD. AND FROM THE SOUTH.) says that it’ll be a few degrees hotter than normal and should be sunny! 🙂

@missmorganista:  I’m from the South, but didn’t think of the almanac. I think I’ll look up my date, too. LOL

@MrsPeterson86:  Provided the weather is clear, I’ll be married under a gazebo, too. It overlooks a small pond, & will be beautifully decorated in white & cream florals. I’m praying for no rain, but just enough cloud cover to shield my guests & bridal party during the afternoon ceremony.

I always wanted to get married outside and am willing to take my chances…either way, technically, we are getting married outside.

In the no-rain situation, we will be married under a beautiful maple tree on the greens of the family golf club.

In the case of rain, the ceremony will be moved under the covered patio.

The best part of getting married on a golf course (or at least ours) is that they have weather radar on site and can tell if it is going to rain within a 15-20 minute window. So hopefully, it stays dry. Our wedding coordinator says that where the club is situated it often gets passed by during rainstorms so I’m hoping that we’ll luck out!

@FoolsintheRain:  Awesome!! My brother got married this year on the Victoria Day weekend and the weather was perfect. I made a wish that we would have the same weather on our day in 2013 so hopefully, my wish works and we both get sunny days out of it!
