You never know what the weather will be like, but in July it will most likely be VERY hot and humid! We had our date set for August and wanted an outdoor wedding, but didn’t want to take the chance of it being so hot and sticky out for the guests, and us!

I am not sure where in the South you are thinking of but please please please consider that July 1 is right in the middle of hurricane season.

It will be very hot and if you are planning on having elderly people they will not be able to stay long in the heat.

You will also be extremely hot if you are leaning towards a traditional wedding dress!

I’ve been to an outdoor wedding in mid June in Lousiana and everyone was absolutely miserable.

If you decide on May 20th, just use your school breaks for huge planning weeks. I’m in graduate school and getting married at the end of this month. I used December break and Spring break to get tons of stuff done. I’ve had the last 2 weeks off between spring and summer semester and things are coming along nicely.

    I’d rather it be cooler.

But really there’s no telling what the weather will be like in May. Our wedding was in Feb. in Fl. It was very cold. We went back to the venue for our one year anniversary, and it was really hot.
