Hi! I am hoping to have my wedding outdoors! However I also am thinking of doing the reception in a barn and just the ceremony outdoors. Any info on venues is greatly appreciated! My family and friends are from Mentor, Ohio and my Fiance’s family and friends are in the Macedonia, Ohio area. Some where in the middle would be great but I am willing to commute.
Thank you for all the help!!!

I have a friend who’s dad just built a beautiful show barn for her wedding. They’re in bowling green. I don’t know how much they’d charge but they have multiple ceremony locations, the barn for the reception (complete with a catering kitchen and bathrooms) and they have like… six cabins for brides, grooms, and bridal partys to stay in. I could get her email for you if you want. The barn is beautiful and so are the grounds.
To be clear,… they’ve had the cabins they normally rent out all season, but they just built the show barn so it’s not like… someone’s house or anything.

Check out Pine Lake Trout Club which is in Chagrin…. This is where we are having our wedding. It isn’t exactly a barn, but definitely has the barn feel.

I’m from Mentor too! I think it all depends on your budget!
I really wanted a barn feel, but couldn’t afford most of the barn places nearby (Botzum, Mapleside, Hale Farm and Village). By The Way check out those places, they may be in your price range.
Anyways, I’m having a super budget wedding and here is a pinboard of places I was looking at. http://pinterest.com/thisandthat/wedding-locations/
We decided to go with Century Village in Burton– Its about an hr from Mentor (past Chardon, in Amish country) They are SUPER flexible and totally accomidating. They have a nice B&B right next door for accomidations (and first wedding night ). They don’t have a barn, but the whole venue is pretty rustic. I would search around weddingbee for other rustic venues in NE Ohio– I def referenced posts on here when I was venue hunting!
