I seem to not be able to find somewhere to have the ceremony outdoors and then have the reception indoors that I like. Anyone know of any places that is near water such as a lake, with lots of flowers and color? Im finding place but they are basically a ceremony site set up on grass and thats about it. I really liked the LAKE HOUSE INN but it overly expensive!! and need to move on and find something more affordable. ANy sugguestions? im looking in Philadelphia area, bucks county, and south jersey and im not appossed to farms and garden ideas.

- Wedding: October 2010 - The Pearl S. Buck House
Knowlton Mansion, Sandcastle Winery and Pearl S. Buck Estate (depending on the number of guests you can forgo the tent options at these and have the reception inside), I second Northampton Country Club or Spring Mill Country Club

we looked at PEN RYN, glenn fored, knowlton manison, and a bunch others but so far we like those the most. We are going to see The Merion in NJ but am not sure if they have a outdoor ceremony site.
I loved the Morris arborteum but were trying to stay away from tented areas bc we dont want our guests to be hot bc of no air conditioner.
THANKS LADIES 🙂

Have you looked at the Aldie Mansion? It is one of the Jeffrey A Miller venues. It wouldn’t be fully outdoors – you could have an outdoor ceremony and the cocktail party. The rest of the party would be indoors – the ballroom is completely renovated and modern. It is a beautiful old mansion that has a ton of character and charm. As with all JAM properties, you can really customize your menue, its BYOB so you can save on booze, and it makes for a really unique venue! You also don’t really have to do too much in terms of decorating considering that the landscape is beautiful.

Similar to adk005 another Jeffery Miller venue is John James Audubon center! Check them out here http://jamcater.com/
By choosing this venue you get to enjoy the outdoor atmosphere and spend no time worrying about mother nature as all of the reception spots are enclosed. Enjoy the beautiful scenery and the cheaper BYO pricing!

Hi! I’m also getting married at the Audubon Center and think it might be just what you’re looking for. We’re having our ceremony outside and then the cocktail hour in a beautiful old barn and the reception in a pavillion, which is indoors but also opens up that it feels very indoor-outdoor. It’s on a creek. You can’t really see it from up where the wedding would take place but guests could wander down to it. And since it’s a nature preserve it’s full of colorful flora and fauna!
