I don’t have any ideas really, besides the tent of course. I would imagine it would take quite a long time to get soggy in the middle of your tent where you’ll be walking. A tarp might work, but it wouldn’t be very pretty! Maybe some nice looking astroturf or something? I have no idea how to spell that by the way, and it’s probably not cost efficiant but it’s just another idea.

@smshontz:  Worse case, move the wedding to the reception location. Or set up a tent a week prior to avoid any rain that may happen.

You could put wood chips, hay or mulch down to absorb water but that could get very messy.

Hi,

You could buy or rent outdoor carpet that you just lay down on the day? Are your church happy if the grass gets a bit ruined? Wouldn’t want you to have to deal with a big payment for new turf!

My sister ended up buying cheap ebay carpet that they were happy to get worn out for her marquee wedding?

Good Luck Smile

yeah as far as the ground is concerned the wood chips are a great idea, not sure how turf works however the party rental companies around here rent it for .50 sq foot, though not sure how much sq ft you’d need.

Facing a similar possibility of rain dilemma myself.
