Hi all, I just found out that my reception – this will teach me to pick a place in a foreign country that is new to the wedding business – is not set up for outdoor lighting, e.g., strung lights. The exterior of the building has flood lighting I believe – not attractive. Do you have any ideas for alternatives to strung light/lanterns that won’t break the bank? Standing lamps? Torches (seems a bit out of place at a vineyard wedding)? Desperate for your suggestions! Thanks!!

I think string lights and lanterns and lots of candles are probably your best bet for budget friendly. Not sure how much lighting you need or what areas you’re trying to cover… You don’t need full lighting for much except maybe near the food if you have a buffet, or leading the way to the restroom…
More than that and you’re looking for professional lighting design… surely they have that there? Call a hotel that does events out there, and ask them?
If your issue is no outlets, you need to rent a generator and/or big extension cords – make sure everything has a european outlet plug styles
