The wedding ceremony and cocktail hour will be held outside then the reception will be held in an outdoor pavilion so there is a roof for shade but no AC but we will be able to bring in fans. I am very conflicted, I really love the Pavillion for the reception but the available dates are on a Friday, June 16 or a Saturday July 22, there is no significant price difference between the two dates and I am aware it could be equally hot or it could rain on both dates. I did want a saturday wedding to minimize any inconveniences but i dont want it to be too hot for people to bear if its on a Saturday. There is a nice subsitute for bad weather but it does not really follow my rustic theme so i hope i dont have to use it lol. Which date do you guys think is better?

I voted for June, because it should be a little cooler, but not knowing where you are geographically could impact it. If you’re farther north, you could get away with a July wedding, or just go in knowing it’ll be really hot.

Typically I agree with P/P about it being cooler in June but like she said it depends on where you are. Im from the deep south where the heat index can easily be 105-115 in June or July which would make an outdoor wedding miserable.

Thanks for the responses! We are located in New Jersey and the weather there can be pretty unpredictable.

I vote for June! We had an outdoor ceremony and it was great. July would’ve been waaaay too hot.

oh god I would never do an outdoor wedding with no AC in July in jersey. NEVER. I’d even be worried about June.

I went to a first Saturday in June wedding, in PA, and we almost melted outside. The ceremony was at 4:30 PM, with almost no shade. When guests got up from their seats, their clothes were stuck to them, with perspiration. You just never know…
P.S. And the barn where we ate our meal – no A/C, no fans, no open windows. We felt half sick.

i went to a july outdoor wedding and it was miserable. i was in a dress and was hot. i felt bad for all the guys who were in suits and tuxes.
on the otherhand, the year i had my bat mizvah, that june day was the hottest of the year.
but if these are the 2 dates, i would go with june.
