Hi There! Recently Engaged, and starting to look at venues for Wedding/Reception. We’ve found a site that is so gorgeous (Starling Lane Vineyard) In Victoria, B.C. It is completely outdoors, which we really like, but now Im unsure as for the weather, etc. Will it be too cool, are the chances of rain too great a risk. The date is set for August 26th this coming year… Suggestions? Experiences? Would love any input so i can set myself at ease.!

I am also thinking about a wedding August 26, 2012! We are also looking at September 9 or October 21. What does the temp usually get to in the summer? I live in Texas and it gets to 100+ and we just aren’t sure it is a good idea for us. I am leaning more toward September 9 or Oct 21. The thing is, chances are if we are worried, there is a reason our gut is telling us it may be a bad idea.
Wish i could be more help! I am in the same boat.

I live in Victoria and it never gets too warm and end of August there usually isn’t a lot of rain.

I live in the Interior of B.C. but I find the weather in the Vancouver/Victoria area so unpredictable! I originally wanted a wedding in the Victoria area but eventually settled on the Sunshine Coast for a variety of reasons. We are doing an outdoor wedding with a tented reception and our back-up is to do the ceremony under the tent if there is rain (it’s a tent with sides).
I think you *should* be OK but I would make sure you have a plan B – like a place to take it inside or a tent. You just never know and the weather is SO unpredictable!
