Hi, I’m having a really hard time finding an affordable outdoor venue in/around Los Angeles for my wedding reception to be held in summer 2017 (super flexible on the exact data). Most outdoor venues require music to stop at 10pm which wouldn’t work for us. I would greatly appreciate any suggestions!!
A thousand thanks!

Look at venues that are a little off the beaten path and don’t have ‘neighbors’ to disturb–they’ll still have a time the event has to end by, but there won’t be the same strict curfew for turning off the music.

Doing a quick search online it seems that it’s in the LA county code that noise levels cannot exceed 45db between 10pm and 7am. I’m not sure if any outdoor venue would allow loud music after 10pm. Maybe find a place where you can have a cocktail hour outdoors and then move the party inside and go until later?

Check out Thundering Hooves Ranch in Tujunga. They’re up in the Angeles Forest mountains, so no neighbors! The couple that owns the property is SUPER nice, but it is more of a DIY venue. When we went and visited, they said they’d “prefer” the party to be over by 2am.

Tiato in Santa monica has a work around where they have the speakers indoors but face them towards the courtyard.

Hey OP, don’t know if you are still looking, or this may be helpful to someone else with the same question – but Wilson Harding Clubhouse at Griffith Park has no curfew and no music restriction. It’s partially indoor, partially outdoor. Also, Heritage Museum of Orange County (in Santa Ana) is all outdoors, has no restriction on amplified music, and allows the event to go until midnight on Fridays and Saturdays. Both are reasonably priced, too!

The law requires outdoor music to be off by 10:00pm so you don’t disrupt the neighbors. Maybe you can look into indoor venues where they don’t have those restrictions or find somewhere that doesn’t have anyone in close proximity.
