My sister asked me if I could put a thread up on Weddingbee because she knows how much I love you girls to see if you know of any outdoor wedding sites that are around Boston or New Hampshire. She lives in Boston, actually Belmont and wants to start looking for places. Thanks so much!

I don’t know a lot for the city itself (although I think the Botanical Gardens will let you have a wedding there…I’m pretty sure they’re expensive, though!), but outside the city, Codman Estate and Pierce House both do beautiful outdoor weddings. Future Sister-In-Law is getting married at a beautiful camp–Camp Kiwanee–also outside the city and very affordable. For more money, DeCordova in Lincoln does phenomenal weddings, as well as the Crane Estate in Ipswich.

Tower Hill Botanical Gardens near Worcester is beautiful; if we hadn’t decided to hold my wedding at my mom’s house we would have had it there.

I am getting married at Church Landing in Merideth New Husband – it is IMO absolutely perfect! The ceremony and cocktail hour are held outside right on Lake Winnipesaukee (sorry if i botched the spelling) and they have a very pretty ballroom inside for the reception! I highly recommend that she checks it out – it’s amazing :o)

There are lots of beautiful places for outdoor weddings in the Boston area. is she just looking to have the ceremony outdoors? or the whole reception outdoors?
Since you mentioned that she lives in Belmont, the first thing that came to mind is the Habitat at Mass Audubon. But I have plenty more suggestions if you can give me a better idea of what she’s looking for!

I just went through the same thing, but ended up not choosing any of them due to the high cost in and around the Boston area. BUT, I did keep a spreadsheet of what I looked at and you can find it here :
Click here to go to google spreadsheet
It’s organized like we had it so you’ll have to sift through some stuff, but I think you might find it very helpful.
Let me know if you have any questions! (Or you can’t get into the spreadsheet…sometimes google sharing is sketchy…)

DeCordova is beautiful — and right up the street from her. Crane Estate is also gorgous, about 1 hour north. Also, the Lars Anderson Auto Museum in Brookline — I know it sounds funny but it’s gorgeous outside there.

Regis College campus. No need to be an alumnae.
Or the Gore Estate on the Waltham/Watertown line

Check out the Mass Horticultural Society in Wellesley. I’m just having my reception there, but they have beautiful grounds for ceremonies as well!
