rndmhumanity :  If you use an aisle runner, it needs to be heavy material or there is a risk of someone catching a heel in the fabric. It also needs to be anchored with something like tent pags.

You could use a carpet runner, fake grass, or have sod placed the day or two before the wedding. You can remove it after the wedding. There are lots of examples on Pinterest.

I don’t have any advice for the runner, but be sure to use LOTS of scotch guard on your dress!

I literally read this and thought “this looks like a job for julies1949!!”  And of course she’s already nailed it.

http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/10322651/ dirt cheap for an almost 8 foot rug.  I wonder if you could line three of them up and make it work that way?  I have no idea.
