I’m not doing it, but I saw a youtube video like that.  As the wedding party was walking down the aisle, people applauded.  And then gave a standing ovation for the bride, lol.

We originally wasn’t going to have music because we were close to the ocean.  Since my minister had a PA system, I had music to @ the beginning of the ceremony.  We actually didn’t need it but since we were an hour late, I was thankful we had it.

Do you not want music or just not sure how to play it?

Ive seen it done without for when the bridesmaids walk, but they had a song for the bride.

If you do want music they used a radio with batteries or you can use an extension cord if outlet is available. it sounded fine but you could practice that if you wanted it.

music really helps set the tone or mood of the wedding. to me it seemed like she almost forgot to plan it but it was a second wedding so maybe she didnt care as much.

Make it how you want it!

I shoot weddings almost every weekend all summer. I’ve been to hundreds. Usually I’m all about a “do your wedding however you want!” kind of attitude, but no music while walking down the aisle is often very awkward.

I’ve been completely obsessing over a very similar problem – our ceremony is outdoors and there are absolutely no power outlets! And I had my heart set on some specific music tracks with lyrics by the original artist, so hiring a couple of musicians wouldn’t too. I was also stressing about not being able to setup a microphone and would everyone be able to hear.

Just found a solution though! A battery-powered PA system with spots to connect a microphone and a ipod/cd player/whatever. I’m so relieved! I just ordered it, here it is, I can let you know how it works once it arrives and I’ve gotten a chance to test it out.

We were going to go without music for our ceremony; but our officiant said it feels strange without it. Especially during the time when the papers are being signed.  We ended up buying this it is battery powered and we can connect a laptop or ipod to it.  We will alos be using it for the reception for our music as well.

Our DJ came early and set up for our outdoor ceremony. I would suggest going to local art schools I had several friends in highschool play at weddings and one of them now charges 2500$ to play at the ceremony alone (like omg crazy). EVen if its a friend strumming on the guitar (I tried but Fiance couldnt get a hold of him) would work great in my opinion.

I was looking into portable generators for power.
