Hello fellow brides and brides to be! My fiancé and I are recently engaged and are looking to get married in either October or November of 2013 in the San Diego area. We are both outdoorsy people but not huge fans of the beach. We are looking for a venue that can accommodate roughly 150 guests to host a late afternoon/evening wedding that is not a hotel or golf course. If anyone has suggestions of venues that roughly fit this description we would love to hear them! We’ve looked into local parks but they all close at dusk and finding lodging in the Julian area during that time of year can be difficult and expensive for our out of town guests . We are willing to spend up to $3,500 on the venue space (not including food) if that helps. Thank you!

I’m looking for much of the same thing. Here are some places I found, that you can google and will give you many options:
-wineries in Temecula
-estateweddingsandevents.com (emma estate and valentino estate)
-lake meadows in Temecula
-orchards in Julian
-vacation homes on vrbo.com that allow weddings
-green gables estate
-twin oaks estate
-mt. woodson castle
-villa de amore
hope this helps!

Our venue is the Rancho Guajome Adobe in Vista. But it is a county park and we must be out at sunset. Total bummer because I always dreamed of twinkle lights. But the price was right, they allowed live music, and supplied the tables and chairs.

@mrsarbeucus2013: Also you should check out the Bernardo Winery.
