i’m also thinking about an OBX wedding. have you checked out the outer banks wedding association? the site is filled with vendor links and all kinds of info.

also, i’m pretty sure you can have a ceremony on the beach without renting a ceremony space. you might need a permit or something, i’d check with the town you’re planning on having the ceremony/reception in.

  • wedding cake: atlantic cake company – soooo delish. by far,my favorite at the expo in january.
  • caterer: i loved 1587. and they’re right next to 108 budleigh!
  • makeup: i’m going with All Eyes on the Bride – she’s apparently the only one in obx that does airbrushing. but i’ve seen a few other places that do wonderful jobs. there’s a place across the street from 108 that has great reviews. if i can think of the name, i’ll post.

I was Maid/Matron of Honor at an OBX wedding earlier this year. They used Red Sky Cafe for catering. Ah.mazing shrimp and grits. Seriously. The cake they had was also the best wedding cake EVER! I’ll check with the bride to find out who they used. I mean, it was so good that guests were begging to take home leftovers. And it was beautifully decorated, too. 🙂
