Hi all! So I’m doing a black tie optional wedding, and our main color is burgundy. I want to make sure the invites are formal, so we’re doing inner envelopes just to give it a little something extra. I’m trying to decide what colors to use and could use some advice. Should I use a matching burgundy inner and outer envelope? Or a burgundy outer envelope with a white inner envelope with a gold foil liner? Or a white outer envelope with a gold foil liner, and a burgundy inner envelope? What do you think?

I love colored envelopes, so I think having a burgundy envelope on the outside would look nice and definitely catch people’s attention right off. And I like the idea of the white envelope on the inside to contrast the burgundy color. Either way, I don’t think you could go wrong!

I don’t think which way you go with the colors matters that much, but I would do the liner on the outer envelope.

@shushu1208 – I think I like the bright colored outer envelope, too! It’d really make it stand out from all the other mail and bills and whatnot.
@sapphirebride – The only thing is that I don’t have time to do our own liners, so the only lined envelopes I can find are white, so if I want the outer envelope to be lined, it has to be the white one with gold liners.
