Hello Bees! My fiance and I are going to pick out his and his groomsmen’s tuxes this weekend, and I need some advice.
My Fiance has five groomsmen. One of them is the oldest of my five younger brothers, M. He is 18, and good friends with my Fiance. The other four brothers have other roles in the wedding. The next oldest, N is 14, and then J is 12. They are both acting as ushers. N will be helping groomsman/brother M to walk the mothers and grandmothers down the aisle during the ceremony. The youngest two brothers, S (10) and C (7) are ringbearers.
We are planning to have my Fiance and his groomsmen wear tails. My Fiance will wear a white vest/bow tie, and the groomsmen will wear black. I would like the ring bearers to wear white shirts and black vests/bowties with no jacket. The question is, what do the ushers wear? I would like them to coordinate in some way, especially since N will be walking down the aisle briefly, and also both be in my family pictures since they’re brothers! I’m torn between having them wear a vest like the younger boys, or a tux like the groomsmen. The older usher/brother N is just as tall (over 6′) as the groomsmen, so I worry that having him wear a vest would look strange. On the other hand, my Fiance is concerned that people would mistake the ushers for groomsmen if they wore tuxes.
Hopefully that all makes sense! Alright bees, help me make sense of all this 🙂
