The original outfit with the cream halter, slacks, and gold heels is fine. : (1 votes)

Most definitely wear the purple dress (with the same accessories), because it's in the middle. : (1 votes)

I’d probably wear a dress, not something really fancy but a dress with heels and a cardigan maybe. Fiance and I got engaged right after we went to see a ballet and I wore a dress with heels!

I would go a tad fancier as well.

Like I would wear that outfit to a Broadway play at my local theater. But if I were going to Broadway to watch a play I would wear something fancier. If that makes sense.

When I think ballet I think fancier but I guess it depends on the venue.

I could be wrong since I’ve never been to a ballet before.

I usually wear a cocktail type dress when I go to the theatre or ballet.  I think your outfits are cute but more work appropriate than evening at the ballet.  I think if an outfit can be worn to work it’s probably not dressy enough for the ballet.

I think what you picked is fine for a weeknight.  Wear some dressier jewelry with your sandals and you are good to go.  I have been to plenty of these types of events both during the week and on the weekends.  Weekends are a little dressier but during the week most people are in business clothes.

Honestly, I think that outfit is fine–especially if the performance is being held at theater, not a more strictly formal venue (Opera House). This seems more like a weeknight symphony preformance or something similar–in wich case, your outfit is certainly appropriate. Go a little dressier/night time with your accessories, hair, and makeup, and you are set! You will look chic but not overdressed. (And hope you have fun!)

I think that outfit would be nice for the ballet. At our theater people are so varied, you’ll see some in jeans and others in ballgowns. So I usually try to dress somewhere in between, like nice pants or a dress.
