Hi friends! New here but I’ve spent quite some time reading different boards 🙂 I need a little ring help and I don’t want to ask family for their opinions because… well… that gets complicated:
I orginally wanted a Heidi Gibson ring (google her) but my SO is worried I will feel differently about the design in 10, 15, 20 years. Fair enough! So he asked me to consider other options as well that might be more “timeless” as a “forever” ring. Ultimately, he said its my decision but I’m respecting his request to think about other options!
So, ladies, I’m looking for pictures of…
- Solitare round or oval cuts (ideally without halos – just simple/minimalist stone)
- Smaller bands (1-2mm) – with or without stones is fine!
Obviously this is a drastic difference in style 🙂
When you post can you add
- your ring size
- number of carats
- your ring dimensions (surface area of the stone) if you know!
Thanks for your help!!!!! I can’t wait to see your lovely rings!!!!! 🙂

Heidi Gibson rings are really pretty. But having said that, I would be afraid I may tire of the style after a few decades. But that’s just me. Your Fiance sounds a lot like mine. He is all for the simple and classic look. And I tend to agree.
My ring specs: 1.5ct oval measuring 8.89 x 6.62 x 4.07. Excellent grade symmetry & polish, E color diamond with VS2 clarity. Setting is a 2mm 14k white gold comfort fit style. My wedding band is the same. My ring size is 8. Pic #3 does nothing for my diamond (it makes it look so cloudy) but it’s the only one I have now that includes the band.

Don’t know if you’re still around OP (why only one response that’s so odd), anyway, here is my oval moissanite Forever Brilliant, 8×6 mm solitaire. I don’t know for sure the mm of the band, but it’s thin.

Size 4.25 finger, diamond is 1.72 carat on a platinum band. Band is 2mm at its widest and tapers to 1.5mm near the diamond. Most reputable jewelers do not recommend a band that is less than 2mm wide for durability purposes.

Hi! I have an oval solitare that has a lot of tiny hidden diamonds (on the basket and on the bridge). My oval center is .9 carats with dimensions 7.84 mm x 5.6 mm. My band is around 2 mm wide. Ring size 4.75. Hope that helps!
The last photo is with my wife to give you a more real life perspective view. Her ring is a .75 carat round center with a halo and ring size 7 if you were curious 🙂

not sure if you’re still interested, I see this post is a bit old, but here is my 1.39ct oval on the thinnest rose gold band the jewelry felt comfortable putting it on 😀 my wonderful boyfriend (already starting to roll my eyes at myself when I say fiancé ) surprised me with this ring so I don’t know all the numbers but my ring size is 7 and the polish is excellent. I love ovals so I think is a great choice!
