Heidibrooke :  I vote lose the halo! And I’m a fan of halos, but not with ovals for some reason.

Loveeee the solitaire, it’s gorgeous. I’d change it back!

Don’t take this the wrong way, but I think you’re getting all those unasked for opinions because, like you, it just seems like something is off and that’s why you’re on here asking for opinions on changing it from halo to solitaire. Because they both don’t seem right but I honestly can’t tell why that is. I just know that when I see your ring everything looks good individually – the stone is beautiful, the halo is also great but doesn’t work for your stone and the band doesn’t quite bring it all together.

Some people, many on this board, have worked extensively with jewellers who know just what setting and work is the best fit for their stone. I too am saving up for what will be my third reset because I love my stone but I know it hasn’t yet found the right setting. And that’s ok.

If people have an idea and are offering opinions I’d take what is useful and ignore what doesn’t work because why would some anonymous person who doesn’t even know you be invested in insulting your ring. I don’t know what behaviour you are referring to but this board is pretty good at cutting past all BS and finding the exact source of the problem.

Keep trying bee, your ring is lovely but if your gut tells you something is off then it’s time to go back to the drawing board. I don’t think either setting works for your stone, which is long and narrow. I’m not sure what the solution is but it’s exciting to think your next setting may be “the one”.
