here is my oval halo! I have size 3.5 fingers. Center diamond is 1.41 carats, GIA rated excellent cut. Not sure of all the other stats off the top of my head. The setting is Sylvie brand (they have a similar setting without the splint shank too). Since my finger is small and oval cuts face up, most people guess my ring is at least 2 carats. I don’t mind that, but it definitely is eye catching in my social circle/age group.

Ring size 6.25. Diamond size 1.04 carats. Be careful when selecting an oval or other fancy cut that it doesn’t have a strong bow-tie effect. Google ‘bow tie effect oval diamond’ to see photos of what I’m referring to, as my stone doesn’t have that. I love my ring and hope you find somthine nice, too!

I have an oval diamond and I love it. No halo so I’m not posting it, but it’s 1.85 center, 2.5 tcw, size 4.5.

re bowties, actually it’s about nuance. I found this online:

Most oval diamonds have something called a bow-tie effect. This effect occurs when light doesn’t bounce back in the middle of the diamond because of the way the diamond is cut. While most diamond cutters agree that this is part of the beauty of the oval diamond, you do not want the bow-tie effect to be too severe.

1 eringMy 1.52 ct oval isn’t a halo setting but it has 2 princess cut diamonds on each side.  My ring size is 5.50.

gtlgtbee:  Hey hun! I have a size 4.75 ring, but still on the small side for sure. My ring was custom made at Solitaire Creations in NYC. I can’t say enough amazing things about them!

The center diamond is 1.57ct, with a microprong halo and band (band is 1.5mm all the way around). I have to agree with Bosswedding2016, ovals face up nicely and most guess my stone is over 2 carats. I think it’s the perfect size ๐Ÿ™‚

My ring is a 4.75 (prob should be sizEd down to a 4.5 since it comes off a little too easy). It’s a 1.01 center stone. In this pic it may look like a bow tie but it’s the reflection of the Bottom band which is rose gold and pink diamonds

jdeleon14255:  Hi do you have any more pics of that ring or oval settings. I have a blue paraiba tourmaline oval stone and I am looking for a setting for it. It is 2.92 carats but I don’t think it looks big I could get the dimensions. I also like ovals set sideways.
